In this world, constant running is needed in order to remain in the same place.

If you stop moving forward, you fall behind.

Not everything I learn becomes useful right away, but sooner or later there is always a moment when I think, “I’m glad I learned that back then.” Learning about the world makes me feel fulfilled and happy. My ultimate dream is to unlock every branch of the knowledge and skill tree within my lifetime. That is why I keep learning as hard as I can—even though I also have a habit of losing interest halfway through and capriciously jumping into the next field.

I am the founder and CEO of LearnMore Education, and I am active online both as myself and through my Vtype. I am still exploring all kinds of interesting knowledge and skills—and I intend to keep moving forward.

I distilled years of physics teaching experience into LearnMore’s high-school physics course for one simple reason: I hope everyone can find something they genuinely enjoy doing, keep doing it, and become the person they want to be.

“Wakame” is the seaweed you find floating in miso soup. It originally began as the ID I used on Twitch, inspired by the Japanese birthday color for January 31—wakame green.

Later, after a well-known female Twitch streamer took a liking to the name, I decided to keep it as my permanent public ID. It also helps that I really like miso soup.

BTW, Wakame is the Japanese pronunciation of 若芽 (わかめ), while Undaria pinnatifida is its scientific name XD.

Bio

I am not really a “slash-career” person. More accurately, I prefer calling myself a centipede (?).

I originally wanted to major in physics and considered myself a pseudo Group-3 student. By a twist of fate, I registered for biology on Taiwan’s old college entrance exam and ended up in public health. Things went smoothly until I finally realized that environmental data analysis might be the field I wanted to pursue for life—then I made a sudden turn into law and began more than six years of legal training. Fortunately, I eventually graduated with a thesis that combined law and public health. Hooray.

I ended up fulfilling my dream of physics by becoming a physics teacher instead. Before I knew it, I had been teaching physics for more than ten years, so I would say I have no regrets left on that front (X.

Halfway through law school, when my thesis was burning my brain to the edge, I happened to walk into a bookstore and pick up a book about digital marketing. That accidental encounter pulled me into the field. As I dug deeper, I realized digital marketing required all kinds of skills—hand-coding websites, building apps, working in Illustrator, editing video—and every time I found a gap, I learned a little more. Somehow, that eventually turned me into who I am now.

Later, another series of coincidences brought me partners whose interests and values matched mine. So someone who did not play escape rooms helped open one, someone who barely listened to podcasts started recording one, and after unlocking far too many branches of the skill tree, I simply went ahead and built an online academy—LearnMore.

Recently, viewers of my career-interview series asked for an episode about the career of a VTuber, so I slipped into Sodaart’s full VTuber-modeling course hoping to find a professional VTuber willing to be interviewed.

Somehow, while looking for one, I ended up learning VTuber-model rigging and illustration myself—and then debuted as a Vtype. It is honestly kind of unbelievable.

My official title at LearnMore is CEO, but I prefer calling myself the robot vacuum. Focusing on the thing right in front of me and doing it as well as I can feels much more like my style.

It may look as if I know how to do a little of everything, but if I am being precise, not all of those skills are equally deep yet. My short-term goal is to finally tackle the things I always wanted to do but never had time for and build a solid foundation in each of them.

In the long run, I want to deepen both the breadth and depth of every field I touch, until I can use knowledge and skills freely and fluently.

And of course, I also hope to take LearnMore very, very far.
